21 hours of travel

We're here! We arrived in Japan Thursday June 30th after, from door-to-door, slightly over 21 hours of travel. EXHAUSTING. For some reason, I always forget exactly how draining a 13-hour plane ride can be, especially since I wasn't really able to sleep. However, thanks to the many amazing improvements to plane technology, there were almost 200 movies to choose from, tons of music, games, and tv shows! I watched several, mostly not very good, movies that definitely helped pass the time. And, because traveling to Japan, for some reason, always makes me emotional, I may have also spent some considerable amount of those movies crying. I'm not even going to name the movies though, because then it just gets too embarrassing.

Mumsy, Sean, and Ethan seemed to have had no trouble sleeping though. In fact, neither Sean nor mumsy even got up once! Every time I looked over at them, they were either sleeping, eating or watching a movie.

Our flight arrived a few minutes early and was overall pretty smooth. There were a few moments of some scary turbulence, but other than that, no problems. Then Koko met us at the airport with some chilled Oronamin C, giving us all a much needed energy boost to make it through the last hour and half of traveling. We took a train, transferred to another, then one more, and made it to Baba's house around 4:30pm.

And so begins another summer visit to Tokyo!!!

More to come soon...

much love,
Hanako

Enjoying our favorite Japanese drink, Oronamin C, after arriving in Tokyo!

I look a little crazy in this one, but that seems pretty normal after a 13-hour flight.
